Controversy for the sake of the Gospel is a divine command"--Walter Martin./embr /br /divKenneth Samples has written an excellent a href="http://www.reasons.org/InMemoryofWalterMartinPart1of3"three-part remembrance of Walter Martin/a, the great father of the span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0"span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0"countercult/span/span movement, who died twenty years ago this month. Martin exhibited many apologetic virtues, which Samples highlights. I was honored to have Walter write the forward to my second book, emConfronting the New Age/em (span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1"span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1"InterVarsity/span/span, 1988) and to spend some time with him in Seattle in the late 1980s. I appeared on "The Bible Answer Man Program" with him in Seattle in about 1987. I listened to dozens of this tapes, which he donated to The McKenzie Study Center (where I was on staff) in the early 1980s. Early in my Christian life, I also read emThe Kingdom of the Cults/em, which was formative in my span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2"understanding/span of orthodoxy and heresy./divdiv class="blogger-post-footer"img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/14410967-5865062853811124987?l=theconstructivecurmudgeon.blogspot.com'//div
