Police reports against blogs in Malaysia

span style="font-size:180%;"/spandiv style="text-align: justify;"blockquotespan style="font-size:180%;"When the DAP starts doing it ..../span Lodging police reports a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhd6hLn2y_COKHeWjrRXsn4jM8ziGWLoXahHdVOc_-xteA7Y3jclw3Bu8EQIZbVGP3iKx0mka0kxKfAc0kL7i3-y7ie5z0IhBXh9ZZgvLcgOFNUgKlnbhzEvEi8Ed3SK5-44yhq8e0ieSw/s1600-h/27July+pg1.jpg"img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 154px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhd6hLn2y_COKHeWjrRXsn4jM8ziGWLoXahHdVOc_-xteA7Y3jclw3Bu8EQIZbVGP3iKx0mka0kxKfAc0kL7i3-y7ie5z0IhBXh9ZZgvLcgOFNUgKlnbhzEvEi8Ed3SK5-44yhq8e0ieSw/s200/27July+pg1.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5363034658208295858" border="0" //aagainst bloggers used to be a Barisan Nasional's past time. Before PRU12, it was Mike Tyson against RPK a href="http://bigdogdotcom.wordpress.com/2007/07/24/umno-info-chief-did-a-police-report-against-malaysia-today/"span style="font-style: italic;"here/span/a or some Umno "goons" versus my buddy Jeff Ooi a href="http://rockybru.com.my/2007/11/3-lodge-police-report-against-jeff-ooi.html"span style="font-style: italic;"there/span/a.br /br /Yesterday, DAP's Ronnie Liu and Ean Yong decided to break the BN monopoly. The two YBs jointly lodged a report against the blog a style="font-weight: bold;" href="http://www.t4tbh.blogspot.com/"t4tbh.blogspot.com/a for the allegations made about awards of contracts and the use of allocations. Ronnie's aide Wong Chuan How, named by the Anonymous blogger as the beneficiary of 84 of the projects Ronnie had given out in the last one year, lodged a second police report [which contained factual errors, unfortunatley, as The Malay Mail pointed out to him after we did some cross-checking]. br /br /Selangor Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim has come out in defence of his Excos, and called for a "sense of responsibility" in blogosphere. "If there is corruption, the public should not just publish these activities in blogs but must take the matter to authorities," he said. I agree. "... Sometimes, stories in blogs are not always 100 percent true," Khalid added. Again, I agree. [a href="http://www.mysinchew.com/node/27589"span style="font-style: italic;"Khalid suggests bloggers come forward with corrupt allegations/span/a - bernama].br /br /Now that the DAP's doing it also, I think people are going to continue lodging police reports against bloggers, including Anonymous bloggers, in future. Bukit Aman's cyber division will have a lot more to do.br /br /p.s. This is not the first time Ronnie has lodged a police report against a site. The first, in July 2007, was against a "seditious article' on Pak Lah's official website.
